Board Member
I was born and raised in Lost Nation, Iowa where it was instilled in me the value of family.
I was a SeeBee in the US Navy where I demonstrated my service and patriotism.
I would go on to get married and resulting from that I would have two beautiful daughters. Years later I would find myself in a situation that I had never expected, being a single parent. After meeting Ryan where he shared with me about PGI’s mission I quickly became of member. I was inspired to join this organization because they inspire fathers to be great fathers. I’m honored to serve on the board of directors and being a member of PGI RIDERS.
Director of Social Media
As a native Iowan, I was introduced to Paternal Guardians of Iowa by Bob and Stacy Jones in December 2016, after attending one of their monthly meetings. I realized then what the message that Paternal Guardians of Iowa was portraying, I joined the next month January 2017. Since then I’ve taken on the responsibility of all the apparel for both Paternal Guardians of Iowa and PGI Riders, assisting in handling social media website since joining the Board of Directors in October 2017.
I’m a family man, My wife Julie and I’ve been together since 1989, and have 2 children Elizabeth and Tyler.
Treasurer
I have been in the banking industry for more than 20 years. Recently I served two years on the board as Treasurer of a local non-profit known as the Moose Riders out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa which raised money for local charities.
Vice President
Austin grew up in Cedar Rapids and has been committed to giving back to his community. Austin is a local attorney working for a corporation practicing primarily in transactional law. After law school, he practiced in Des Moines until he decided to move back to Cedar Rapids to be closer to family. Austin has been friends with Ryan for almost a decade. The two became friends working together at FedEx during their undergraduate studies.
Executive Director/Founder
My life changed forever when I became a father. One of those changes was my purpose and passion in life. The insurmountable joy fatherhood had brought me also opened my eyes to a problem that continues to increase: rate of fatherless homes in America.
The best part of my day is picking my son up after a long day’s work and having him yell daddy as he wraps his arms around me. He makes me a better person and having a positive healthy relationship with him will ensure he will grow up to be an even better man than I am. I decided to start Paternal Guardians of Iowa whose mission is to eliminate the fatherless epidemic and ensure that every child can grow up having a healthy and positive relationship with their father.
